Our TV (UE40J6300) has lost it's wireless connection to our home network. When trying to reconnect it I'm getting the following message: 'Invalid MAC Address, call Samsung support' Have tried the TV reset function but no luck. All our other devices, phones, laptops etc connect without a problem. Our TV is only just over a year old. I have seen posts on other forums about this problem with Samsung TV's. Any help / suggestions on how this can be fixed without the need for calling out an engineer would be appreciated. The idea of finding the Wi-Fi MAC address of a Samsung Galaxy S8 or a Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus might be a bit intimidating for the less tech-savvy users. The MAC address and IP address that s entered on my panasoic viera tv is incorrect. I m able to manually change the IP address but not the MAC address - I can t click on the MAC address in order to enter the correct one. Tonight i called Samsung support and to my surprise the 'invalid MAC address' issue was addressed by the representative within a few minutes. Steps: Power off (plug out from the outlet ) the TV for 30s and plug in Go to Menu->Support ->Self Diagnosis ->Reset This will reset TV settings and will need to power on TV at this point This is new settings and you need to go through setting your language etc. This will try to reconnect. In my case it connected to my modem but not connected to internet Go to Network -> status -> IP settings and set DNS to 4.2.2.1 Now you are all set and you should be able to connect to Internet Remember, your apps would have been lost and so need to go to Apps and download your favorite ones again I was amazed with the ease with with the representive handled the issue and she helped resolved this issue within few minutes. This is the first time i approached Samsung and they set a great example of customer services. Kudos to them and i will recommend Samsung products to anyone, going forward. Really impressed! Hi AntS Thanks for the link but the menu screens shown are different to what I get on our TV. However following the same basic procedure I can only get as far as trying to select a wireless network. It goes through the motions of searching for available networks, doesn't find/list any and goes back to the screen with the option to choose wired or wireless networks. After I put my original post up we found that the TV had regained the Mac address and was connecting to our network. This lasted until today when it's lost it again and the Invalid Mac address message is back. Looks like this could be an intermittent fault??? Once again we know the network is fine as all other devices connect to it without a problem. Any other suggestions?? If you are running a windows o.s you use the ipconfig command in the command prompt. If it's a Linux machine you use ifconfig command in the terminal If you want to know the IP address that websites see when you visit them, see the related links section for a resource on that. To find your syste m's ip address go to COMMAND PROMPT and type ipconfig. All you have to do is click start, run and type in cmd. It will open up a black screen.. Type in ipconfig.. And where it sais ipv6 adress.... The next to it will be your ip adress. It depends on the operating system you are using. For Windows based systems, at the command prompt, use the command 'ipconfig'. You can also use the 'netstat' command to get this information. For a Unix/Linux system, the command is 'ifconfig', although you may also use 'netstat' to find your I P address. Also using internet Allaboutsite offers whatismyiptool to find your ipaddress. As the name suggests, this tool lets you instantly find out your IP address online. Just head to the page and see your IP address displayed at the top along with it's physical location on a Google map. Answer Vista.Where's my IP address? Click on the Windows 'Start' button in the bottom left had corner of your screen. Then, in the 'Start search' box just under 'All Programs', type 'cmd'. A 'dos' window will pop up. Type 'ipconfig'. Windows IP Configuration information w ill come up. This information will include your IP address. It may be listed as 'IPv4' address. To exit the 'dos' window, type 'exit' at the blinking cursor. If you are behind a proxy or local gateway you will not find your IP with 'cmd'. Go to web site ip.nf (type in your browser or click a related link below) and you will see your IP. This method always works. Go to Start > Run. In the Run window type CMD and click Ok. In the command prompt enter the command ipconfig your IP address will be listed under your local connection (your Internet connection), this is not always accurate if you use a router, for better results try ipchicken.com Another method ( If you are using windows) is to run command prompt and type (Without quotes) 'ipconfig' Well it's diferant for mac and windows! I hope you have windows!
